Project Narrative

This project involved streambank protection by landowners to protect and enhance existing vegetaton and control deposits at two different worksites on the lower reaches of Morgan Creek. At the first site the landowner enhanced the existing vegetation by installing a wire fence along approximately 4,000 feet of stream to help filter and control the sediment deposits. At the second worksite the landowner placed rocks under the tree roots to stabilize the bank and salvage the trees. Logs were also placed on the streambank. Project actions will protect riparian vegetation along reach of Morgan Creek where adult steelhead have been observed by landowner and biologists in this reach.
