Project Narrative
During this project the route of the fence was altered resulting in reduction in the length of fence of approximately 4.294 feet. This also resulted in the inclusion of an additional 15 acres. This change also reduced the cost of the project. The project was completed on June 15, 2005 with 1.1 miles of Jack Jence installed. Twenty-seven members of the Challis High School Envirothon Team and their advisor completed a monitoring inventory on the Hooper Lance Fence on March 9, 2005. The Enrirothon team completed soils tests, measures flows, identified aquatic insect activity in the stream established photo points, and assessment preliminary weed baselines for the project. The landowner and NRCS have developed a conservation plan for the area. The conservation plan covers 1.1 miles of riparian area and stipulates that the riparian area will be rested for two years.
