Project Narrative

At Agency Creek, which is a tributary to the Lemhi River, a concrete box culvert that was a fish passage barrier was removed and replaced with a 28 foot by 30 foot prefabricated steel bridge. The installation of the bridge was completed on April 6, 2013.Removal of this fish barrier provided access for 0.1 miles upstream to the next culvert. This project reduced the velocity of the creek flow, allowing passage for and eliminating the possibility of structural failure and detrimental effects to ESA listed salmonids and other resident species. The channel at this site was restored to a more natural condition. Results of this project are expected to reduce the velocity of the creek flow, allowing passage for all life stages of ESA-listed salmonids and other resident species and will restore a more natural condition to the Agency Creek channel at this work site location.
