Henry Reach

Starting in the Summer of 2020, IDFG implemented construction for the Henry project, which is located approximately 4 miles south of Tendoy. This reach along the Lemhi was historically very straight and lacking suitable habitat for Salmonids and resident fish. Following construction, the uplift of biological response was tremendous. Several new side channels containing cooler spring water was created and inundated and within the first year over 600 juvenile Chinook were utilizing the newly created habitat. This project spans only 0.65 river miles along the Lemhi River, which is a relatively small project in comparison to other basin wide projects, however this project illustrates even small scale habitat restoration can have large impacts.
